Irish Elk Silhouette

These ink drawings were inspired by a beautiful Irish Elk skeleton in the National Museum of Scotland. I loved the shapes that the black skeleton created against the bright white of the gallery, and thought it would work great in ink. Then I thought the reverse would look good as well. I like how the positive and negative shapes look together.

I'm planning on doing two more sets like this, and creating a series of three positive and negative silhouettes inspired by animal shapes I've photographed in the museum.

Which drawing do you prefer?
