Seal Silhouette

Here's the final set of ink silhouettes inspired by my trip to the Scottish National Museum: seals!

I recently found out that seals can be spotted in the sea in places near Edinburgh. Obviously I got way too excited about this, and have now made it a mission to find some seals. Or any kind of sea mammal, actually. Anyone with me?

  1. Great work Asleigh! I love these bold silhouettes and the lovely inky texture. Did you use photoshop to create both negative and positive shapes?

    1. Thanks, Stella! I actually did them both all by hand. I started by filling in the seal with ink, then tracing it, cutting it out, and tracing the same shape onto the next piece of paper, then filling in the background with ink.

  2. Did you see the Narwhal at the museum?
    I like narwhals.

    1. I most definitely saw the Narwhals. They were battling in mid air!
