Photoshopped Drawings

Today I procrastinated Art History readings by experimenting with combining drawing and Photoshop. People from reddit gets drawn were used for reference.

I think I'll play around with this technique a little more.

Things

Here are a few things I've done lately: and surreal portraits and sketches from photos of the Kelvingrove museum in Glasgow.

First Assignment at ECA

Here are some work in progress shots of my first solo project here at Edinburgh College of Art. We were instructed to create an illustration for an article on the Higgs boson.

And the finished piece:

The finished drawing shows Rolf Heuer announcing that they have found the Higgs boson, Peter Higgs celebrating the discovery, a landmark from Cern, Edinburgh's Old College, a scientist from Edinburgh and a scientist from Cern high-fiving, and a sea of people celebrating the success. This drawing is meant to show the celebration felt by the whole scientific community throughout different nations. "It was a global effort, and it is a global success." - Rolf Heuer.

Bad Composition Drawing

For drawing class we had to create a composition that breaks all the rules of good composition, made up of sketches we did of objects we wouldn't normally draw. I flipped through a couple of National Geographics and sketched a wackload of random things.

The composition turned out really awkward, so I hope this is what the prof is looking for.

The bones are my favourite.

More Living Things!

Just about filled the sketchbook.

P.S. Anyone know how to rotate images? The weird sideways ones are normal on my computer until they're uploaded. Hmm.

Living Things

For an upcoming drawing project, I've been sketching living things like mad. I managed to do about 35 sketches yesterday of various living things (mostly animals) in ink, sharpie, or graphite.

Below are some samples from my sketchbooks.

Ink Sketches

Here are a few quick sketches I did for drawing today.

I really need to get into the habit of posting on a regular basis.
